As I stepped through the gates of Kopila Valley School, I was immediately enveloped in a world unlike any I had known before. The air was alive with the sounds of children's laughter and the bustling energy of national and international volunteers engaged in the Dashain Camp activities. The scent of fresh greenery filled the air, and the vibrant colors of the lush landscape surrounded me, creating a feast for the eyes. The unique "Rammed Earth" construction of the buildings stood proudly before me. As I explored the premises, the touch of fresh air, the vibrant green environment, and the variety of plants provided me with a refreshing experience.
Venturing into the vocational campus, I crossed a swaying suspension bridge, feeling the gentle sway beneath my steps. The earthy aroma of the small farm and the soft sounds of animals at play greeted me, while the sight of fruit trees and fresh produce from the student-tended garden added a layer of richness to the experience. The concept of integrating programs such as “Sustainability”, “Health and Wellness”, and “Futures” into the curriculum resonated deeply, and the warmth of the management team's welcome and enthusiastic voices while they shared their plan, left a lasting impression.
In my one-on-one session with founders Mr. Top Malla and Ms. Maggie Doyne, I realized that their inspiring vision and mission seemed to permeate the very air around us, igniting a sense of purpose and belonging within me. Throughout my time at Kopila Valley School, the love and positivity of the community enveloped me like a comforting embrace. The first impression of Kopila Valley School and its culture has left an indelible mark on my heart.
I feel honored for the opportunity to be part of this extraordinary culture.
