Aanchal Dutt Chaulagain
English Teacher
Aanchal Dutt Chaulagain, born and raised in Delhi, India, but originally from Surkhet, Nepal, is a woman on a transformative journey. She witnessed the restrictions placed on girls in her childhood, pushing them away from sports and limiting their aspirations. However, her mother's determination to provide her with opportunities fueled Aanchal's own pursuit of breaking societal norms.
Guided by the belief of "Be the change you wish to see in the world," Aanchal left Delhi behind after completing her Masters, returning to her hometown to make a difference. She established a bakery and made it a point to employ only women, aiming to challenge societal norms and prove that women can achieve anything. Through her bakery, she empowered women from disadvantaged backgrounds, inspiring them to strive for financial independence and a better future for their children.
Aanchal's path crossed with Maggie Doyne, the founder of Kopila Valley School, which shares her vision of ensuring safety, education, and love for every child. She fell in love with the school and its mission and gladly joined the Kopila team. Working in her own country, Aanchal finds joy and purpose in uplifting the lives of children and women. She wakes up every day with a smile, knowing that she is contributing to the change she wishes to see—a world where children are safe, educated, and loved, and women are respected and free to pursue their dreams.
With the support of her exceptional team at Kopila, Aanchal is determined to turn this dream into reality, empowering children to thrive and women to embrace their potential. Together, they work towards creating a brighter future for generations to come.
